WELCOME TO “RIGHT AID” PAKISTAN

The “Right Aid” Pakistan” is a non-commercial and non-political, non-governmental organization registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860/Companies Act, 2017 of Pakistan. The organization is working since 2014, and remain committed to undertake projects/activities for the welfare of humanity in all its respects; including health, education, environment, poverty alleviation, empowerment of youths and women to realize their fundamental rights. In particular the organization will focus on most marginalized communities such as brick-kiln workers (bhatta workers) and their families. Initially, the Right Aid’s was formed under the auspices of All Pakistan Brick Kiln Association as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). However, in order to avoid conflict of interest, The “ Right Aid” Pakistan was formed as an independent entity since 2016 and its scope of work has now been expanded beyond its initial focus on brick kiln works and owners. The main aim of the Right Aid is to work with communities, governments, civil society, private sectors and international agencies to advocate and protect the rights of most marginalized population. In order to achieve its main aim, the organization has laid down certain key objectives around the core principles described in box. As a priority the organization has been highly instrumental to promote rights of brick kiln workers in coordination with Pakistan Brick Kiln Association, concerned departments, partners NGOs and international agencies such as ILO, UNDP, UNICEF, etc. The organization has a highly dedicated professional team with an accumulative experience in working for human rights, child and women protection, improved environment including health and hygiene and water & sanitation and research and development. The organization has the honor to be the lead agency to work for the rights of brick kiln workers and creating homogenous relationship with owners. It is further equipped to offer advance technology from indigenous brick making as a mechanism to promote better environment effects and introducing health and safety for its workers.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

  • To promote and protect human rights through strategic approaches focus on marginalized population in Pakistan.
  • To offer innovative solutions to social issues through improved policy imperatives, dialogues and consulting
  • To bring partnership with other social welfare organizations to address targeted human right issues including health, education, environment, economic empowerment, etc.
  • To design and implement innovative safe spaces to marginalized population particularly children, women, men and youths through projects sponsored by national and international agencies.
  • To provide expert capacity building for social sector partners and entrepreneurs by introducing state of the art low-cost and environmental friendly improved technological solutions in brick kilns, cotton industries, etc.
  • To empower women for their better livelihood equipping them with coping mechanisms on violence against women and children (including neglect and abuse) by establishing outreach services for psycho-social and legal support.
  • To develop and strengthen networks of to provide quality services for the rehabilitation and socio-economic empowerment of the marginalized society.
  • To established a resource center to build capacity of partner organizations (including youth led) to ensure rights of the individuals belonging to marginalized groups particularly people living with disabilities.
  • To provide expert consulting in research, surveys, evaluations and TPVs in the areas of health, education, environment, food and nutrition and human rights protection.
